While everyone in this posistion has different resources, ideals, availability, and knowledge, all of us looking to leave a job typically have common questions: How do I leave my job? How can I start a part time business? How would I get started? How can I do this myself? Which experts can I trust? What do I need to do to become successful?
I find this question to be largely universal of most aspiring entrepreneurs & first-time business owners (including myself), and unfortunately, there are too many so-called “experts” out there claiming to have the exact answers to all these questions. While there are true experts out there that really offer great advice and instruction, the common issue I find is two-fold. First, most of these experts strongly recommend not having a job when trying to start a business. While I definitely agree with the base logic here, I believe for numerous reasons that normal people cannot save/borrow money to start a business and just leave their jobs. Second, since this is the case, normal people with the inspiration to start a business but without the ability to not work a job are left to feel as if they can never fulfill their dreams because they simply cannot dedicate the PERCEIVED amount of time & energy necessary to successfully generate an income independent of the job.
While I am certainly no expert or internet millionaire myself (yet), I feel this perception to be incorrect, and the perception needs to be challenged. Using only my life’s experience and upcoming, continuous research, it is my intent to find ways to successfully go into business for myself and provide a more realistic roadmap for others in a similar posistion. I can appreciate your strive to go into business for yourself. After working for at least a decade for several dysfunctional companies, my motto is: if they can do it, why the hell can’t I??!!
